Waygu & Angus Beef

We have waygu-cross and angus steers that we rotationally graze on our lush, mixed vegetation pastures. Their beef is lean and mildly flavoured; grass-fed, grass-finished. There is a lot of good information about the benefits of grass-finished beef vs. grain-finished beef, both from a nutritional standpoint and an environmental standpoint. We value grass-finished meat for it’s nutrient density, leanness, and its fabulous flavour.

Steers are processed in late October at Johnny’s Sausage and Meats Ltd., in Grimshaw, Alberta. Our orders for beef come in 50 pound increments. The cost for an angus beef box is $10/lb, which equals $500/50lb box. A waygu cross beef box is $12/lb, which equals $600/box.

Each 50lb box contains a mix of ground beef (20lb), roasts (12-18lbs), steaks (12-18lbs), and stew meat. All our beef is grass fed and grass finished. Generally, a whole steer yields between 450-500lbs of meat in the freezer, so if you are wanting roughly a quarter beef, that would mean purchasing between 4-5 boxes.
