Lamb

Not available for 2024. Shetlands are an unimproved or heritage breed that isn't commonly used in industrial farming, as they are smaller than industry preferences.  However, they are a great choice for a direct market lamb, especially due to their quality and sweet flavour. We like them for their docile nature, hardiness and strong mothering characteristics.

Our lambs are born in March and April and are raised on pasture. We leave the lambs with their mothers to nurse until the mother has weaned them.  Our lambs are generally 6-7 months old when we send them to the butcher and weigh about 80-90lbs. This translates to roughly 35 pounds of meet in the freezer.

Our lambs are professionally processed at Johnny’s Sausage and Meats Ltd., in Grimshaw, Alberta.

Our pastured lamb is $9/lb cut and wrapped. We require a $50 deposit per lamb.
